Generator Warranty
All diesel generators sold by Makhaf Heavy Duty Machinery carry a manufacturer warranty of 1 to 2 years, depending on the brand and model. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and operating conditions.
Warranty periods by brand:
- Hyundai: Up to 2 years / 2,000 hours (whichever comes first)
- FAW: 1 year / 1,500 hours
- Cummins: Up to 2 years / 2,000 hours
- PERKINS: Up to 2 years / 2,000 hours
- Volvo Penta: Up to 2 years / 2,000 hours
- SDEC: 1 year / 1,500 hours
- Scania: Up to 2 years / 2,000 hours
- Baudouin: Up to 2 years / 2,000 hours

Solar Product Warranty
- Solar Panels: Typically 10-12 year product warranty with 25-year linear performance guarantee
- Inverters: 5-10 year manufacturer warranty depending on brand and model
- Batteries: 5-10 year warranty depending on technology (lithium vs lead-acid) and cycles
- Solar Accessories: 1-2 year warranty on mounting structures, cables, and connectors
- EV Chargers: 2-3 year manufacturer warranty
What Is Covered
- Defects in materials and workmanship present at the time of manufacture
- Component failure under normal operating conditions and within manufacturer specifications
- Electrical and mechanical faults not caused by external factors
- Engine block and major internal components (generators)
- Alternator/generator head defects
- Control panel and automatic transfer switch (ATS) malfunctions
What Is NOT Covered
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or accidental damage
- Damage from overloading beyond the rated capacity of the equipment
- Damage caused by improper installation by unqualified personnel
- Normal wear and tear on consumable parts (filters, belts, spark plugs, fuses)
- Damage from power surges, lightning strikes, or flooding
- Modifications or alterations not authorised by the manufacturer
- Failure to perform scheduled maintenance as per the manufacturer's guidelines
- Use of non-genuine or incompatible parts, fuel, or lubricants
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality
- Damage during customer transport or handling after delivery
Warranty Conditions
To maintain your warranty coverage, please observe the following:
- Register your product within 30 days of purchase (where applicable)
- Follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule
- Use only genuine parts and approved lubricants/consumables
- Have the equipment installed by a qualified and certified professional
- Keep all proof of purchase documentation, including invoices and delivery notes
- Maintain a service logbook or record of all maintenance performed
- Operate the equipment within the manufacturer's specified parameters
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Contact us as soon as you notice a problem. Provide your order number, product details, and a clear description of the issue. Photos or videos are helpful.
Our technical team will review your claim and may request additional information or arrange an on-site inspection.
If the claim is approved, we will arrange for repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate under the warranty terms.
We aim to resolve all warranty claims within 15-30 business days, depending on the nature of the issue and parts availability.
